Thank you for purchasing the Ionmax Breeze ION420 Air Purifier. The Ionmax Breeze can help to improve the indoor air quality in your home or office.
Please read this manual carefully before use to ensure proper usage and save these instructions for future reference.
Note: Verify that plastic bags are removed from filters, if equipped or installed, before first use.
Purification System
1. Cleanable Pre-Filter
Traps large particles such as human hair, pet dander and dust particles. Helps to extend the life of the HEPA and Activated Carbon filters.
2. Activated Carbon Filter
Neutralises odours and other Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC’s) such as formaldehyde and benzene, as well as other harmful fumes emitted by household products.
3. HEPA H11 Filter*
Traps up to 99.5% of allergens and airborne contaminants down to 0.3 microns in size. These allergens include lung damaging dust, mould spores, plant spores, pet dander and pollen.
4. UV-C Light (254NM)
Kills airborne germs, viruses, fungi and bacteria.
5. Negative Ions
Improve indoor air quality by combining with dust or reacting with odour molecules and removing them from the air we breathe.
*Ionmax Breeze HEPA H13 Antiviral Filter available as an add-on option.
Control Panel
“POWER / UV-C/ION” BUTTON
Press this button to turn on or switch off the unit. The UV-C light and Ion generator are also controlled by this button.
Note: Ion generator is controlled by the same settings as the UV-C light.
“FAN SPEED” BUTTON
The fan speed of the unit can be adjusted between Low (I), Medium (II) and High (III) when the unit is in operation.
“TIMER” BUTTON
The air purifier can be timed to operate for intervals of 2 hours, 4 hours or 8 hours, stopping automatically when the selected operating time has elapsed.
To select the continuous operating mode, press the button repeatedly until all three timer lights are off.
Important note: When the unit is not in use, switch it off and unplug it.
Operating Instructions
USING THE APPLIANCE

Power / UV-C/ION button
Press this button to turn the unit on or off. The UV-C light and Negative Ion generator automatically starts up and shuts down at the same time as each other. -
Fan speed button
Press this button one or more times to select the desired fan speed. The corresponding fan speed indicator lights up to indicate the current fan speed (Low, Med, High). -
Timer button
Press this button to select the timer settings for 2, 4 or 8 hours.
Maintenance Instructions
CLEANING THE UNIT
- Always unplug the power supply before cleaning the unit.
- Do not put the unit into water or use water to wash it directly.
- Do not use any corrosive or flammable detergent to clean the unit.
- Use a soft cloth with daily cleanser to clean the unit, and make sure the unit is completely dry after cleaning.
- Regularly clean the inside and surface, to prevent dust from gathering.
- Regularly clean the air intake and air outlet.
STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS
If the unit will not be in use for a long time, please pack and store it properly:
- Unplug the power supply of the unit.
- Clean the pre-filter.
- Use a soft cloth to clean the air intake and air outlet.
CAUTION
Proper use and regular maintenance can ensure efficient operation and extend the life of the unit. Do not attempt to repair or adjust any electrical or mechanical functions on this unit. All servicing should be performed by qualified personnel only.
Filter Replacement
FILTER REPLACEMENT INDICATOR
When the “Power” indicator flashes during operation, it indicates that the HEPA and Activated Carbon filters need to be replaced.
REPLACING THE FILTERS
Follow the Filter Replacement Instructions (page 8) to change the filters.
After replacing the filters, with the power off, press and hold the power button for 5 seconds to reset the indicator light.
The built-in timer for the filter replacement indicator is 4,320 hours.
Note: The expected filter lifetime is 6 months (if used 24 hours daily) or 12 months (if used 12 hours daily).
PRE-FILTER MAINTENANCE
- The pre-filter is not washable.
- It can be gently vacuumed using hand tool attachments (no rotating brushes).
- Do not use any solutions, brushes or sharp objects to clean the pre-filter, as this can damage the filter.
HEPA / ACTIVATED CARBON FILTER REPLACEMENT
- The HEPA / Activated Carbon filter is not washable.
- The HEPA / Activated Carbon filter can be used for about 1 year or 6 months if used continuously, but its actual life depends on air quality condition and proper maintenance.
FILTER REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS
The ION420 comes with the filters fitted inside, but you may need to remove plastic packaging from the filters before the first use of the air purifier.
When replacing with new filters, remove all packaging and place filters into the unit as described below.
Tip: Place the appliance against a wall for more stability when you remove or insert filters.
Note: Make sure you insert the filters in the correct position.
Step 1.
Place your fingers in the recesses of the side panels and gently pull the top part of the front panel towards you. Then, lift the hooks at the bottom of the panel out of the bottom of the unit.
Step 2.
Remove the pre-filter from the unit.
Step 3.
Remove the combined Activated Carbon and HEPA filters from the unit.
Step 4.
Remove all packaging material from the new filters.
Step 5.
Place the new Activated Carbon and HEPA filters into the unit, with the HEPA filter facing in and the black Activated Carbon filter facing out.
Make sure that the side with the tabs is facing you.
Step 6.
Place the new pre-filter into the unit.
Step 7.
To reattach the front panel, insert the bottom hooks into the bottom of the unit first. Then push the panel against the body of the unit.
