Unpleasant smell

From the moment I turned the unit on it has given off an unpleasant odour in the air. I have tried it with the ion and UV switch off and actually without the filter momentarily, but the smell is just inside the unit itself. I ran it for a day but the smell remained. I can't sleep with the smell. So it seems I've bought an air purifier that actually pollutes the air!! Not happy.

The other problem is that the control buttons are not raised or lit, so you have to turn on your room light at night if you want to adjust it.

Otherwise it runs very quietly and looks stylish. Pity it fails in it's primary purpose!

Thank you for your honest feedback for our Ionmax ION420 Breeze Air Purifier — we regret to hear the unpleasant smell encountered.

Do be informed that it is normal for a brand new air purifier unit to produce an unpleasant/plastic-like smell during the initial few days of operation and the smell will dissipate eventually.

Therefore, kindly allow some time and continue running the unit as this will help the smell to dissipate.

Excellent air purifier and easy to clean

Freshens the air quickly, removing cooking and laundry smells. Removes particles from the air leaving the air visibly clearer. Filter is easily cleaned with a vacuum.

I wasn't convinced at the efficacy or need, I thought they were just another fad. I was going to say with my parents for 6 weeks, who have a cat that I am highly allergic to & wasn't looking forward to constant asthma, swollen eyes & welts & taking antihistamines 4 times a day, with little effect.
I did some research & thought I can't be worse off & had it sent to their home, before I arrived.
I am now totally sold on this product.
Some days I'm not taking any antihistamines, others 1 a day & I'm using very little ventolin. I noticed a big difference within 2 days of use.
Simple to assemble & easy to use.
Unit is quiet, especially on low at night.
Extremely happy with this air purifier.
